Excerpt

“She’s been missing him a lot lately.”

Julia’s voice is barely a whisper and my chest constricts. Our conversations don’t normally make it to discussing Gage unless we’re already arguing. The fact that she just brought it up shocks me and I’m not comfortable with it. I don’t know how to take it. I feel my jaw pulse with frustration and scramble to change the subject again. “Why is it so chilly in here?”

Her smile disappears and she tugs her sweatshirt nervously. “I didn’t know it was.”

“How can you possibly not know?” I start to the thermostat across the room when she clears her throat.

“The heater isn’t working right. I asked Lane to come by and look at it earlier this week.”

“And he hasn’t been here yet?” I shoot her a look and she shakes her head. “He’ll be here tonight.” I dig my cell outta my pocket.

“Crew, don’t. Please. The last time you called my landlord he was a complete jerk to me for a couple of months. I just got on good terms with him again.”

I scroll through my contacts list, looking for his name.

“Crew ...” I know her doe-eyes are pleading with me. I also know if I look up at her, I’ll be somewhat inclined to give in. So I don’t.

ALPHA BOOK CLUB REVIEW

“‘If I could go back to that day, I’d tell you I loved you right off.  It might scare you, but you’d know that I was serious.  And I’d get a job and save money and get us a house together as soon as I graduated high school.”

5 stars.  Emotional and gripping, but still a lot of fun to read.  Adriana’s characters are so flawlessly written and the story is well developed.  I really enjoyed reading this book.  It really does suck you in.

Jules is a fighter and has been all her life.  Fighting for what she needs and deserves.  Fighting against her horrible parents, fighting against the loss of her first love, And now she’s facing another fight that she may not win.  Crew is also a fighter, the only difference is, is that he doesn’t care who he hurts along the way or the mess he might create along the way.  What happens when these two strong willed characters meet and realize that there may be more to life than fighting for everything??  This book was so beautiful and emotional.  I enjoyed this book more than I can actually say!

Excerpt
Telling the women to come to the precinct, I can already see the irritation grow in Lindsey. “Why? We had nothing to do with what happened in there.” Hearing Lindsey’s defensive tone riles me up further and I discreetly shift my uncomfortably restrained cock. I interrupt, moving to stand beside my partner, shoulders tall, preparing for further argument from the firecrackers in front of me. “Ladies, while you may not have been intentionally involved in today’s events, you are both now witnesses. Meaning, you need to accompany us down to the precinct so we can get your statements. If all appears to be in order, you’ll then be free to leave.” Almost immediately I feel the agitation directed at Roam shift, radiating my way instead. I meet Lindsey’s glare with the same intensity, and she never falters, not once. She doesn’t cower like most people do when on the receiving end of my frustration. She stiffens, but remains steady, a powerhouse of determination and strength. The silent conversation passing between us lets me know exactly the kind of woman I’m dealing with. The female version of myself. Lindsey turns away and sighs, her shoulders dropping. But as she clears her throat and faces me once again, that fiery attitude holds strong through the depths of her gaze. I can’t help a smirk from breaking out. The satisfying feeling that I might actually be getting under her skin overtakes my professionalism. Forgetting all about Roamyn or Alison, I get in her space; close enough to smell the scent I’m craving so badly. “Or, Miss Jenkins, I can cuff you and make you come in anyway,” I whisper softly and shove my hands in the pockets of my pants, restraining myself from reaching out to her. Lindsey’s tongue darts out and she licks her lips, causing all the blood to flow straight from my brain and to my cock. Her muscles lose tension and her eyes soften, I take it my message was received. Good. If we were in another place, a casual situation, a different time, maybe for just one night I could revel in the warmth of this beautiful woman and for a moment, obliterate the nightmares hijacking my life. Mirroring my action, Lindsey leans in and I do my best to hide the shiver of pleasure being in her presence brings. “You’re enjoying this aren’t you, Detective?” She peers up, radiating confidence, as if she’s got one over me. She crosses her arms over her chest, accentuating her tits, which I’m sure is supposed to distract me but it doesn’t. Instead I scowl at her. With my head tilted to the side I hold her stare, too mesmerized by her approach, confused by the sentiment. Damn, I thought I had her. “I—” “You know, I’ve met a lot of men just like you. I’ve never been interested in arrogant assholes before and I sure as hell am not interested now. So either you show us to the precinct so we can give our damn statements and go home, or I’ll kindly ask your partner here”—Lindsey smiles at Roam—“Detective Miller, is it?” “Yes, ma’am.” The bastard grins, nodding eagerly. “Right. I’ll ask Detective Miller if he could show us the way.” She tilts her head inquisitively as she speaks, stirring every raw nerve in my body; her tone sweet, yet full of sarcasm. “Well that escalated quickly,” Alison quips, breaking the tension building so quickly around us. Roam chuckles beside me and I just know he’ll be mocking me about Lindsey’s smartass attitude later. Reaching around to grab her sister’s side, Lindsey envelopes Alison and whispers, “Come on, babe. Let’s get this over with.” That day our worlds collided with a violent crash, the impact stronger than either of us could have ever imagined. We didn’t realize until the damage was done and we had more than just broken bones.

HOLDING YOU

Deep breath … I am peaceful, I am strong.

Free-spirited Addy Brecken is Milwaukee’s most talented vegan chef and co-owner of Sage Leaf Café. She has a genius IQ, a padded savings account, an amazing view of Lake Michigan, and a heart that won’t stop beating.

Deep breath … I am peaceful, I am strong.

An early April morning finds her drowning in the seductive fragrance of lilacs and the warmth of the morning sun when she’s nearly hit by a car in front of her café. The peaceful existence she’s desperately tried to maintain after the horrific loss of her family is suddenly shaken by the Range Rover driving, arrogant, sex-on-legs Quinn Cohen.

Deep breath … I am peaceful, I am strong.

A successful, Latino businessman from New York, Quinn has a taste for the finer things in life. A typical playboy, he has the money, the houses, the cars, and the women. Quinn is everything Addy avoids. Where she lives simply and prefers to help the less fortunate, he has no problem spending an obscene amount of money on a briefcase. Their opposite personalities lend to several heated encounters, and Addy finds herself propositioning Quinn for the one thing she never imagined needing … sex.

Offering only her body, Addy tries to keep Quinn at a safe distance from her heart and a world away from her past. Their passion-filled connection makes Addy feel something unfamiliar, alive. But with passion comes more feelings: anger, jealousy, love. When Addy surrenders to the unimaginable and lets go of her past, she’s faced with the impossible … holding on to her future.

Deep breath … I am peaceful, I am strong.

Holding You Excerpt

“Fine! I’ll call him. But he may have already left for New York.” I requested my phone call, but part of me was hoping he didn’t answer. There was a good chance he wouldn’t recognize the number and therefore choose not to answer.

“Quinten Cohen,” he formally answered.

“Hey,” was all I got out.

“Addy? Where are you calling from?” His voice was neutral.

Thankfully he didn’t sound angry, but I couldn’t detect any pleasure in his voice either.

“Um, well, actually… funny thing happened this afternoon. Mac and I sort of got… arrested.”

There was silence on the other end.

“Hello?” I thought maybe we’d been disconnected.

“I’m still here. I’ll be there as soon as I can.”

“Where are—” I started to ask him where he was. I didn’t want him flying back to Chicago if he was already back in New York, but he ended our call before I had a chance to finish. Then I was escorted back to my cell.

“So, what’d he say?”

“He’s on his way.”

“When will he be here?”

I shrugged. “Twenty minutes, an hour, two days… He didn’t say before he hung up on me.”

“An hour later we were released and told all charges had been dropped. Quinn was waiting for us in front of the police station. I gave him a sheepish smile. “Hi.”

“Hi.” He shook his head in disbelief.
Mac reached Evan and was talking on her cell phone.

“So how was your afternoon?” I went with small talk because I honestly didn’t know what to say.
He squinted his eyes at me. “Busy, yours?”

“Oh, same old, same old. Fed some homeless people, had lunch with my friend, attended a peaceful demonstration, got thrown in jail, nothing too exciting.”

He nodded in thought. “So this is pretty much a normal day for you?”

I hitched my purse back over my shoulder then shoved my hands down into my front pockets while I looked down at my feet. “We don’t always go out to lunch, but other than that, it’s pretty typical.”

RELEASING ME Blurb

A tragic accident. A hidden past. An unbreakable love.

Never goodbye …

I thought Addy stole my soul.

Her beauty blinded me.
Her heart called to me.
Her touch healed me.

She gave everything and asked for nothing. Then I broke her. The depths of her pain were veiled by the reflection of my own. I didn’t deserve her, but I wanted her––I needed her. In my darkest hell, I heard her voice. That’s when I knew …

Addy was my soul.

Deep breath … I am peaceful, I am strong.

Quinn was worth the risk.

He took away the numbness and gave me unfathomable pleasure. Every emotion felt magnified, every moment felt like the last.

My heart found purpose.
My body came to life.
My soul returned.

His weakness gave me strength, and his past held my future. He saved me by … releasing me.

Releasing Me Excerpt

Quinn

I kept my back to her as I buttoned my shirt. The sound of her broken voice saying my name fucking killed me. I needed a drink, and I needed to get the hell out of there. She wormed her way under my skin, but I didn't want her there. My mind was such a fucked up mess, I felt bewitched by everything about her: those ocean blue eyes, her cherry lips, the way her long golden hair flowed down her back and over her fucking perfect breasts. Her smell, her touch, her voice … it was too much. I had only one choice––to let her go. I had to get out from under her spell. She made me feel things I didn't want to feel. The truth was I didn't want to feel anything.

"Quinn?"

"Just … stop, Addy!" I yelled in frustration as I shoved my feet into my shoes. Every nerve in my body was on edge. I've got to get the hell out of here.

"Quinn, look at me—"

"Goddammit! Just … shut up. You won, okay? You brought me to my fucking knees, stripped me of my resolve, and left me with nothing. We're done."
All I needed was a drink. I slammed the door and dialed up Chase.

"You apologize?" his smug voice answered.

"Just get your ass over here," I demanded.

"Did you apologize?" His stubbornness grated at my very last nerve.

"Fucking hell, Chase! Yes, she's completely satisfied. Now get your ass in the car and come get me!”

“He wraps his arms around me before pulling my dress up to my waist and palms my ass cheeks, squeezing them firmly, ‘magnificent ass of yours and how good it would’ve looked bent over my desk for a bit of afternoon fun, wouldn’t make you blush?”

4 hot MC stars!  This was a pretty steamy read.  It was a little different than other MC books I’ve read and that’s not bad at all.

What would you do with a second chance at life?

Would you go back to the same things that you were doing before, or would you embrace that chance and take a new path?

Being the byproduct of a single parent home growing up, I learned quickly that life wasn’t easy and it damn sure wasn’t fair.

My name is Archibald ‘Roc’ Rochester and when I was seventeen, I was given my second chance. How did it turn out? Well, you’ll just have to read my story to find out.

In this book we meet Archibald ‘Roc” and he’s had a rough life from the start.  Raised by a single parent, he learned the hard way that life wasn’t fair.  Tired of living the way he was he made a choice, and that choice led him to Eli and he taught him that he has a choice to accept the way his life is going or he can beat the odds and become something bigger and better than he already is.  This book was a lot of fun to read.  It’s different than other books I’ve read with this theme and I’m glad about that!!  Great job!!!  Ready to read book two now!
