Excerpt

Gripping Red’s hand tight, the two ran up the stairs, Brooke wincing each time one of the boards squeaked under the pressure of their weight. At the top, the door was open, a fact that had Brooke’s heart jumping up her throat like it was on a damn trampoline. Peering out, she ensured there was no one in sight before tugging Red forward. A few steps into the carpeted foyer, the sound of voices drifted towards them. Panicking, she pulled Red into what she thought was an empty room and shut the door.

Panting, she leaned against the door, trying to catch her breath.

“We have to hide here, Red. I’ll check if it’s safe in a few minutes.” When there was no reply from Red, Brooke turned her head, searching. “Red?” The other woman stood frozen, unmoving in the middle of the room.

“What are you—ahh…” Brooke stepped up beside Red, concerned why she was non-verbal. The room was not empty as she had expected. It wasn’t empty at all and the scene before them was a terrifying one.

Cots. Rows and rows of cots and each one was occupied with a tiny infant. Some were sleeping, wrapped in thin blankets. Others were squirming, having come loose from their bundle. A few were wailing, a loud sound that would make any dog in the surrounding area sit up and take notice. How Brooke didn’t hear them, was beyond her. The adrenaline was a roar in her ears, blocking out everything except listening for footsteps of anyone that might be approaching. A quick count revealed twenty-four cots. Twenty-four babies either stolen are birthed by a mother that was likely a prisoner in the same house of horrors she was trying to escape from.

Covering her mouth, Brooke supressed a scream of disgust. Children. Helpless infants all lined up and ready to be sold by the indescribable monster, Marcus. An auction straight from a mother’s worst nightmare.

“Red,” she tried to get her attention. “Red,” she said with more force. When that still didn’t work, she reached out and lightly shook her. The haunted, empty look in her eyes when Red finally acknowledged her, broke Brooke’s heart into a million tiny pieces.

“My sons. My daughters…” she moved towards the cots. “I—I have to find them. I—I—I didn’t get to—to hold them,” she stammered, peering over the cots at the tiny faces. Her heartbreak was written all over her face as she searched from cot to cot for her children.

Not being able to stand seeing her torment, Brooke rushed to her side, trying to tug her away. “Red, I don’t think they are here now. These…these are infants. As in just born, and you—” Red’s head whipped around to pin Brooke with furious eyes.

“Shut up. You know nothin’. My children are here. They are here.” Tears sprang to Brooke’s eyes at the utter despair in Red’s voice.

“I really wish they were, God, Red. But I promise you, we will make these bastards pay. We will find your children and make sure they can never do this to any other woman,” Brooke’s promise was fierce and true. She would shut this operation down, even if it killed her to do it.

Alpha Book Club's Review

“Knowing where she was going, Brooke hung her head.  Milo yanked her arms up behind her back and then the cold shackles locked into place.  Dr. Daniels held up a needle, tapping on it with his forefinger.  Feeling the prick in her upper arm, she closed her eyes in defeat and let the darkness take her.”

5 insane, crazy, what the heck did I just read stars.  All I know is that this book is dark, like grab your blankets, grab your mom, just grab something because it’s dark.  But I freaking loved it!!!

The rest of the day passes quickly and then I'm on my way home, when I get in I start preparing dinner so that when Felix comes home his dinner is ready. He likes his dinner to be ready on the table, he doesn't like to wait. We sit down to dinner and there is a silence between us, I decide to say something. "Felix are you ok? You’re very quiet tonight."
He stops eating, puts his knife and fork down and looks me in the eye and says "You looked like a tart today when you were giving the presentation, all the lads were staring, your top was too low!" He sneers at me.

"What? I don't believe you just said that to me, that is so hurtful." I start sobbing. I can't believe he would speak to me that way, he never has before.
"I can't believe you went to an interview dressed like that, of course they’ll give you the job dressed like that, they probably think they can look down your top everyday." He looks so angry.

"It was a lady that interviewed me." I say during sobs. "There is nothing wrong with my top and what gives you the right to say that to me anyway?" Obviously that was the wrong thing to say as he gets up from his chair and strides over to my side of the table, grabs my ponytail and pulls it so hard that I have to look up at him. "YOU are my wife and no one else will look at you with lust in their eyes, only I'm allowed to do that." He lets go of my hair, walks back to his chair, sits down and resumes eating his dinner. I'm sitting there with my mouth open staring at him with tears running down my face. I don't know what to say, so I just sit there. He looks at me then says "Go and wipe your face you look a mess."

I get up from the table, go out of the room to the downstairs toilet and sob silently. What the hell just happened out there? I clean my face, then go and sit back at the table. I'm not hungry now so I just sit there with my head bowed down. I don't want to look at him!
"So babe, tell me about the interview, how did it go?" he says still eating his dinner. Is he serious? "Come on tell me!" he’s starting to shout!

So I tell him about Blue Eye and Helen, the HR Manager and about the three stages of interviews. I tell him I'm really excited about this job and that I loved the company. He sits there nodding his head at me and asking a few questions. "I have another interview with Clifton Associates, a Facilities Company tomorrow, the job looks good too, but I think today's job would be better all round" I say waiting for him to say something.

"Sounds good, let's see what happens, good luck tomorrow" he says. He stands up, puts his plate in the sink and says "I'm going to watch TV" and walks out the room.
He's being so weird, normally the two of us would do the dishes and chat about the day and what's ahead for the week.

We first met Lauren in Rockstar’s Temptation, where she wasn’t the best sister to Maisy and tried to come between her and the man she loved.

Lauren doesn’t know why she is such a bitch, but she is. There is no use denying it or hiding it. She believes in being who you are and fuck those who don’t like it. That also results in her not having many friends, if any, and not much family left. Even her boyfriend doesn’t want her anymore – well, he actually caught her in bed with his two friends and kicked her out. Her ex is pissed, and she soon realises the hard way that she never should have betrayed him. Yet, pretty-boy Andrew isn’t as innocent as she thought. In fact, it turns out he’s connected to one of the biggest gangs in America.

Lauren is beaten and abused in every way possible. Her human rights are stripped, and she is treated like an animal. Blindfolded and gagged, Lauren has no idea what is going to become of her, or if she will ever get out of the mess she has found herself in.

Karma has finally caught up with Lauren Ashford, but is this the end, or can someone out there help her? Are there men strong enough, or even brave enough, to face up to her captors?
When the toughest drug lords from Philadelphia come crashing into her kidnappers’ motorcycle club's cabin, they find a beautiful girl chained up to a wall and made to live like a dog on the hard floor. She’s not the only one, though: beside Lauren, there are two other girls. Even these hard criminals can see that this isn’t right. In their world, women are treated with respect.

From here, Lauren is given the greatest gift. To go home. Once back in the UK, Lauren is under the protection of the UK Kings of Rebellion crew and is shocked to find that even though they are dangerous, they treat her so much better. One of these men is Brandon, the oldest son and next in line to take over the family business. Is this the man that Lauren needs? Or do her old habits of being a “do now, think later” kind of bitch, come back to bite her in the ass?

One thing is for certain, the president of the motorcycle club, who took her, wants her back...

Demon throws the door open, shoving me inside and locking it behind us. He slowly strolls into the middle of the room, his large frame is very intimidating and no, I can’t ignore the fact that he is sexy but that doesn’t change who he is. “You’re lucky that it was me who found you.”
I look around the room, happy to see that there’s not as many guns on the desk than last time. “How so?” I ask.
I see the annoyance flash on his face. “Because if it was any of those other men out there, you would be naked, hung up and being raped repeatedly right now.”
My eyes widen from the shock of his words and he nods. “And you’re better?” I dare to ask.
A devilish grin appears across his face. “No, I’m not saying that but you need to watch how you speak to me.” I nod in answer. “Now sit on the sofa.”
I hesitate for a second but when I see the warning on Demon’s face, just daring me to disobey, I decide to take a seat. Demon quickly follows, standing over me. “How are you liking your new life with the Devil’s?” I’m shocked by his question, obviously I can’t say how much I hate it so I nod my head and smile. This makes him laugh down at me. “I think it’s time to give you your name.”
“I have a name.” I point out.
“Lauren?” He asks and I shouldn’t be shocked. He is Andrew’s uncle after all. “No, I don’t like that.” He reaches for my hair and swirls it around his finger. “I love your shiny black hair, makes me want to pull it as I fuck you from behind.” I gulp at his words. “That’s what I’ll call you.”
“What?” I’m confused. “Black hair?”
Demons laughs loudly. “No! Your name is Raven.” He rakes his big hands through my hair, it feels so good and I hate the fact that I close my eyes and savour it. “See Raven, I think you could really enjoy life here. You just need to relax.” He crouches down in front of me. “If you let the club look after you and let me take care of all your needs, you will have such a happier life.”
A happier life? Is this guy for real?
I don’t think this place is capable of providing a happy life for anyone, except maybe the members. Demon opens my legs and of course I do nothing to stop him. When he sees that I am naked under the skirt that was provided by Tracy, he smiles along with a groan. “See, you’re perfect.”

Alpha Book Club's Review

“I dream of kisses on my face and being lifted in the air.  Strong arms carry me and I breathe in a familiar scent that I have come to adore.  The more I breathe in, the more I become aware that it’s Brandon who is carrying me and I’m not dreaming at all.”

Wow this book was dark and I loved it.  I could not put this book down, I was drawn in from the beginning and hung on until the end.  Yes, it’s dark but I love dark.  Great, great book! I love a good MC book and this one did not disappoint.

One thing is for certain, the president of the motorcycle club, who took her, wants her back…

In this book we meet Lauren, who’s also from another book Rockstar’s Temptation, and she is a self-proclaimed b@tch.  She has a bit of a reputation, she’s slept with her sister’s boyfriend and her sister’s friends boyfriends.  And even after her sister Maisy almost dies she feels no remorse.  She takes no responsibility for her actions whatsoever.  One night she makes a huge mistake when she’s caught sleeping with two of her boyfriends friends.  Little does she know the man she’s seeing is part of the Devil’s Spawn MC and he’s the nephew of the president.  She’s then taken captive.  While she’s with the Devil’s Spawn she meets Brandon AKA Grim, he’s the VP of the club.  From the moment on they are constantly battling their feelings, which makes for such a great read.  I don’t want to go into more and spoil it but I will say Brandon is such a sexy beast!!  This book was so gritty and dark.  The characters were well developed and well written it was hard to find something to dislike.  I’m excited to see what will come next!
