Normal. It was a relative term, or so I thought.

Perfection is a gimmick.
It’s something they use to sell you shit you don’t need. The perfect home. The perfect family. The perfect marriage. Photos of that perfect life are all around us, but none of it exists.
I know better because I take those photos. It’s all a ruse to make us think that's what we want. Behind closed doors, the house is a mess, the family is fighting, and that loving couple hates each other. I prefer a different city every week, laughing friends, and a variety of lovers.
Until Carl. I’m not sure what I want when he’s around.
Perfection is an illusion.
It’s something used to make you forget all the bad shit that happens in this world. It’s an unattainable dream not worth the effort.
I had the perfect home. The perfect family. The perfect marriage. Or so I thought. That illusion died with my wife and slammed me into reality. Aside from my daughter, business deals and making money is where my heart is now.

B.L. Mooney started writing when the voices and storylines in her head ran out of room. They were getting too cramped and neither B.L. nor the characters could take it anymore, so she did the only thing she could do—she made room. She always knew she wanted to write, but vowed to make time for it later. Now that she’s made time for writing, most everything else falls to the wayside. That seems to suit the characters that keep popping up just fine.
B.L. lives in the Midwest and her other talents include in-demand cookies, a very dry sense of humor, and stealth eavesdropping. Some mannerisms, attitudes, or twists come from random sentences picked up while passing by strangers. So speak up the next time you have something to gossip about. You never know, it may just end up on the pages of the next book you read.

I would give the Striving Series from B. L. Mooney 5 stars. Alpha Male, Mind F$$k, Romance, Suspense.
If you haven't read any B.L. Mooney books yet, you need too, you won't be disappointed. I loved this series.
Striving for Normal: This is not your ordinary love story.
Drew is trying to live a normal life after being in an abusive relationship. We learn of her past from flashbacks and therapy sessions. She is trying to put her life back together with the help of her friends, Mark and Terri. She is hesitant to be in a relationship, but finds herself involved with two men. Dennis, the sweet protector and Carl, Alpha male and father of one of the children at the daycare .There are twist and turns and a shocking ending in this book.
Striving for Perfection:
This story is about Rachael, her boss is her ex-boyfriend who she thought was the love of her life. Her world ended when she catches him in bed with another woman.
Carl is an alpha male who is still struggling with the loss of his wife and raising his daughter by himself.
Rachael and Carl have a past history, after a misunderstanding Rachael ran away from what could have been with Carl. When they meet again the sparks fly and the misunderstandings are resolved. Will Rachael be able to help Carl move on from the loss of his wife? Will Carl be able to help Rachael?
Striving for Acceptance:
Deb is trying to survive an incident that is haunting her. The incident involved her murdering the man she was having an affair with.
She is going through therapy and is working on moving forward with her life.
Mick is Deb’s landlord and becomes her supporter. Mick, is trying to fulfill his dream of opening a restaurant. Both Deb and Mick have struggles with family issues. Deb is trying to accept her past and Mick is trying to take control of his future.
All three of these stories can be read as stand alones, however the series wraps up perfectly if you read them all together.
There are so many great scenes in all of these books. Humor, Hot sex, intense family discussion, nail biting suspense, shocking moments, and so much more.
B. L. Mooney definitely has me addicted, I can’t wait to read more from this great author.
