When I first read the blurb of this novel, my first thought was ‘if life brings you lemons, make
lemonade’, and Brooke did exactly that – although she found her husband cheating, she took
her life in her own hands and decided to discover the new her. As for Chance, he’s the
protector- the man to help the damsel in distress, find the bad guy and put him away and
especially keep his country safe from those who would bring chaos to order. These two
characters are so different from one another that the beginning of their relationship was full of
bumps and turns, and readers were in for quite a ride. Christa Lynn surprised me. I expected a
novel that would be slow paced, relaxed and romantic; instead I met the opposite and I loved it!
Novels that manage to surprise me are rare and few, which is why I will be keeping an eye out
for this author in the future to see what else she will be coming out with.
