night stand she thought she’d never see again.

#Excerpt
The
man standing over my left shoulder was tall. Deliciously tall. He towered over
me, and that was saying something. At
5’11”, I was not a petite woman. I could look most men in the eyes and wasn’t
bothered by it in the least. After all, petite women didn’t rise to the top in
my profession. And there’d definitely been a time when I’d crested above the
rest.
The
tides had turned since then. I was no longer the woman on top. However, that was also to be expected in my
profession. You were only the ‘it’ woman until the next ‘it’ woman came along.
I
wasn’t complaining. The view from where
I stood today might not be as good as it once was, but it certainly wasn’t a
bad one either. I knew people that would
have killed to be in my position. Then
and now.
EXCERPT 2:
“Are you looking for someone?”
I finished my scan of the room and my
eyes landed on the handsome stranger next to me. Was I looking for someone? No. I’d been so angry for so long. I wasn’t
looking for someone. I was looking for something.
Something spontaneous and meaningless.
Something that would be my little secret. I needed my own secret.
I looked into his eyes. They were so dark. I could get lost in dark, murky eyes like
that. “No.”
“That’s too bad.”
“I’m not sure that it is. I thought
maybe I wasn’t looking any more because I’d just found him.”
EXCERPT
3
Elated, enamored, and absolutely drunk with desire, I
allowed him to manhandle me until I was straddling him. His need pressed
against mine and want coursed through my entire being. I didn’t think I’d ever
wanted anything—or anyone—more. “No
one has to know,” I murmured into his hair.
“No one can,” he muttered before his mouth found mine.
Tongues tangled and danced. Hands groped, pushed, and
pulled. Soft needy fingers that were probably his but could have been mine
swirled around the sweet spot between my legs. Incoherent words spilled out of
my mouth as we passed into the West Village and neared my home. He’d made me
come and we were still both dressed.
