Embrace the Darkness by L.M. Justus
(Darkness Trilogy #3)
Publication date: October 2015
Genres: Paranormal, Young Adult

Synopsis:
A cure for vampirism is within Reed Hennessy’s grasp. According to legend, all he has to do is destroy the original vampire. If Reed is successful, every vampire on Earth will become human again, and he and his girlfriend, Sarah, can have the normal life they want.
If only it were that easy.
First, they have to find the original vampire, whose location is a centuries-old secret. Second, most vampires don’t want to give up their superior strength, speed, and longevity, so they’ll do anything to stop Reed.
With the help of their friend and mentor, Nathaniel, Sarah’s sister, and a trio of former vampire hunters, Reed and Sarah set off on their most dangerous journey yet. Reed faces a choice when he realizes the price he must pay for the cure: he can persevere with his quest or learn to embrace the darkness.

Only because I enjoy and truly get a thrill out of reading action packed paranormal vampire did I keep reading, because quite frankly, I was lost in many parts of the novel. I haven't read any of the previous novels in the series nor any of L.M. Justus' novels previously released, and as such, was highly unprepared on the contents of the novel and the storyline. I wish I could offer high praise but I believe my experience would have been enhanced with at the very least knowing more about the series and the background. Considering my lack of knowledge and my biased (at least for me) opinion about good vampire books (which even the worst has at least one good aspect), I honestly don't believe my review would be fair to the author, nor to the storyline itself; however, for a follower of L.M. Justus, this is the perfect novel to add to their library, and for the paranormal fan wanting to add a new series, this is one that would be worth exploring.
