There is
nothing I can do to control the roll of my eyes. “Does that mean I don’t have
to take you to the college today?”
“Oh no. My
brother told me to talk to you about a ride. You may not like it, but you’re
taking me anyway.”
There’s no
time to respond, when she storms to the front of the room to take her seat with
her friends.
Throughout
class, my leg bounces and I clench my fists in complete irritation. Who the
hell does this girl think she is? She’s got balls of steel, that’s for sure.
Watching the clock, I don’t hear a word the teacher says as I wait for my
opportunity. It moves slower than I thought possible, but finally the bell
rings. I gather my stuff as quickly as I can and walk to the front of the room,
where she is still packing up her stuff.
Stopping next to her desk, I return the favor and place my hand on top
of her book so she can’t put it away. “Find your own ride.”

ALPHA BOOK CLUB REVIEW
“It seems ridiculous to think that when she’s too far away to even tell the exact color of her eyes, but it’s still there as her gaze lingers on me for a bit longer than necessary if she’s just trying to find someone.”
Beautiful, well-written story. I fell in love with this book from page one and I couldn’t put it down.
Jayceon in on the high school football team but he’s constantly being tormented by the other boys on the team. And when he’s not playing football he gets lost in his art. Just when he thinks his life can’t get more complicated in walks Seona. Seona moves from Michigan to Texas to finish her senior year of high school, and escape her life in Michigan. Seona and Jason spark up a friendship that soon blossoms into a relationship. But when Seona’s life catches up to her and threatens the very relationship she’s created with Jayceon. I loved this book it was absolutely beautiful. This is a definite must read.
