Lisa Matthews lives with her boyfriend Mark, he is very controlling. Suffering from his verbal abuse and sometimes physical she has lost a lot of weight to try and please him. One night Mark tells her that they are going to a friends for dinner and makes her promise that she will go along with whatever happens. And WOW, I didn’t see that coming, I really wanted to strangle Mark for the situation he put her in however Grayson was so great with her.
Once Grayson realizes that Lisa was not comfortable with the situation he pulled back and talked to her and they played chess. Lisa feels a connection to him and feels safe.
Lisa has been saving money and planning on running away, her opportunity comes when Mark goes away on a business trip. She needs more money and she comes up with a plan to get more from Grayson. Will he give her the money she needs?
I loved this book! However the ending was definitely not what I expected. I feel like there was some things left unfinished, however I see that there is a sequel coming in 2016. Thank you Cleary James gor a great read. I look forward to the sequal.
