Leyton snapped out of it, only to find Ashlynn looking at him. Her eyes reflected amusement, but she wasn’t smiling. Yep, she’d busted him.
“Ready?” he questioned.
“To go to Max’s? We need to get this figured out. I’ve got another meeting to get to this afternoon.”
“With who?” he asked, sipping his coffee and stepping out of the way as she approached.
His eyes slid down to her ass and he wondered whether or not she was wearing panties beneath that sexy dress.

Leyton Matheson, Second in command of The Adorite Family, Brother by choice of Max Adorite, Has had a horrible life rescued by Max during high school -loyal to the death.
We come into this story and get to see the past & present as the author rotates back and forth for the first 2/3's of the book. In doing so, Nicole Edwards is able to provide the backstory that has led up to these three people being in their current situation. This is a fun story, with moments of emotional upheaval one minute you are happy and then it's all ripped away by a tragedy.
Ashlynn and Jace have been "seeing" each other for over a year and during that time Leyton has walked in or watched them "together" on more than one occasion and it's killing him because he wants to join in..yes he wants both Ashlynn & Jace and he won't settle for a quick night together either, no he wants love and commitment. So what's the problem? Well besides the fact that Ashlynn doesn't believe in love, Leighton was also warned off Ashlynn by her brother Max. Jace and Leighton can be together, but they both want to have Ashlynn also in their relationship - they want a ménage. However, nothing will happen without Max's approval.

And yes, I’m loyal to your brother—he’s my family.” “What about me?” He noted a hint of insecurity in her tone. “You’re more than that to me.” Cupping her face in his hands, Leyton pressed his mouth to hers. “You’re everything. Can these three get past all the obstacles keeping them apart? If they do will an enraged mob boss threaten to take it all away just as they are getting started? With the threat of death looming can they fall in love? Sometimes it takes one scarred person to heal another's scars -- will these three heal each other or ruin each other?
